Mornington Peninsula - Two Day Journey

Marvel at the panoramic views of the city and bay from Arthurs Seat lookout and, at the top, visit the delightful Seawinds Gardens, with magnificent work from renowned sculptor William Ricketts.

 

You'll be blown away at Gordon Studio Glassblowers. Set amongst towering eucalyptus trees, Eileen and Grant will leave you in awe as they create their colourful glass masterpieces before your eyes.

 

Meander down a winding, dirt track to the stunning Red Hill Estate. Sample the flavours of their award winning cool climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Gary and the team teach you that wine appreciation doesn't have to be too serious . . .

 

Wander through from the cellar door to Max's restaurant, with unspoilt panoramic views of the vines and of Western Port Bay. Dine on exceptional regional produce matched with the Estate wines and soak up the essence of the peninsula. Indulge and unwind!

 

Lose yourself at Ashcombe Maze and Lavender Garden. Enjoy the serenity of the stunning, ever changing seasonal gardens and numerous water features. Over 60 varieties of fragrant lavender are harvested into a range of essential oils and creams. You'll be fascinated with a demonstration of the lavender distilling process.

 

Travel from lush gardens, through rugged and diverse countryside, to the quaint township of Flinders. Here, a local secret awaits – an exhilarating coastal drive through the Flinders golf course - sheer cliffs, abundant birdlife, the spray of the ocean on your face…

 

End your day in one of the following ways :

 

A. Peninsula Hot Springs

 

Step into a world of pure indulgence at Peninsula Hot Springs, where a private thermal pool beckons.

B. Cape Schanck Lightstation

 

Witness the wild ocean and breathtaking views from the historic (yet fully operational) Cape Schanck Lightstation. You'll be fascinated with a guided tour of the 100 year old beacon. Take a stroll along the cliff top boardwalk and head down to the thundering beach and Pulpit Rock.

 

Relax in comfort on the short trip to your accommodation for the evening: Arthurs Superb Views Luxury Retreat, with breathtaking views over Port Phillip Bay. Check in, take a leisurely spa and freshen up before being whisked away for you evening meal.

 

You'll be enchanted by the charming Pig and Whistle Tavern. This traditional English country tavern is famous for its views, succulent steaks (the best on the peninsula) and fresh, local seafood.

 

Second Day

 

Awake to a delightful breakfast in one of Australia's ultimate breakfast spots. It's going to be hard to pull yourself away from these spectacular views. Savour a selection of sweet treats from Peninsula Chocolates . These gems are handmade while you watch (Thurs-Sun).

 

A guided clifftop walk along Portsea's stunning ‘Millionaires Row' will really open your eyes . . .

 

Stop for a delightful morning tea at ‘The Baths' restaurant, rich in history and located right on the white sands of Sorrento beach.

 

You will be awed by the rustic beauty of T'Gallant. Taste their refreshing multi-award winning Pinot Gris at one of the Peninsula 's few vineyards that makes wine onsite. Head next door to La Baracca Trattoria for a memorable lunch. Inspired by mouth watering seasonal produce, the rustic restaurant has been converted from an old tractor shed and overlooks the stunning vineyard.

 

Take a step back in time at Coolart Wetlands and Homestead – home to a grand 1890's Victorian Mansion, everchanging wetlands and abundant birdlife. The beautifully manicured gardens are connected to the beach with a lovely woodlands walk.

 

Enjoy a glass of the highly acclaimed Pinot Noir, or Pinot Gris on the wisteria covered terrace at The Garden Vineyard. Take a guided stroll through one of many stunning garden varieties. It's a place of breathtaking beauty and inspiration.
